GoodEats: A Taste of London

Welcome to my food blog post!

I’ve been lucky enough to try some incredible meals across the pond and during my travels, and I wanted a place to remember and share those experiences. So, here we are! On this page, you’ll find my top 6 favorite meals from my time in London, Belgium, and Malvern.

I hope these photos and stories give you a taste of the amazing food I’ve had, and that you can imagine yourself enjoying each bite, too!

And, of course, this one’s for you, Dad! Enjoy!

Chicken Sandwich at Hinterland

Rating: 10.5/10

What I ordered:

  • Sandwich: Pulled chicken, burger sauce, tomato, and roquette (arugula) on a baguette.

Review:
Hands down, the best sandwich I’ve ever had! I was worried the baguette might be dry, but I was totally wrong. The bread was perfectly moist and easy to eat. The pulled chicken and burger sauce were an unexpectedly perfect match—rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Would order this again in a heartbeat!

4 Boneless Chicken Thighs at Nando’s

Rating: 8/10

What I ordered:

  • Main: 4 boneless chicken thighs
  • Sides: Chips (fries) & rainbow coleslaw

Review:
The chicken thighs were cooked perfectly—juicy and flavorful, just what you expect from Nando’s. The chips were crispy and hit the spot.

The biggest surprise? The rainbow coleslaw! I’m not usually a fan, but this one totally won me over. Solid meal overall!.

FRIED EGGS at FAUN

Review: 10/10

What I ordered:

  • Cacklebean eggs, hazelnut dukkah, chives, truffled brown butter, crispy onion, sourdough.

Review:
Once again, insane. The truffled brown butter stood out in every bite, and the eggs were cooked just right. The sourdough was perfectly crispy. It was the perfect meal, especially enjoyed in Great Malvern while reading The Disciplines of Life. A 10/10 experience all around!

Butter Chicken at Maharaja of India

Rating: 9.5/10

What I ordered:

  • Butter Chicken with white rice.

Review:
First time trying Butter Chicken, and wow—I’m hooked. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. The only downside? I split it with Izzy and Hannah (being a bit cheap), so I didn’t get as much as I wanted. Definitely need to go back for round two!

Cheesy Lover at MEAT30

Rating: 11/10

What I ordered:

  • Cheesy Lover (served in a casserole with cheddar)
    • Black Angus beef patty, cheddar, caramelized onions.
    • Served with fresh fries.

Review:
Guys, this was insane. The cheddar, the crispy fries, the sauce, and the arugula all came together in a perfect harmony. Seriously, this burger was almost a life-changing experience. Would eat it every day if I could.

Beef Taco Bowl with HelloFresh

Rating: 7/10

What I ordered:

  • White rice, ground beef, sliced tomatoes, avocado, cheddar cheese, seasoning.

Review:
Not bad at all! While we’ve definitely had better meals, this one still hit the spot. It was nice to cook at home instead of always going out. Simple, tasty, and satisfying. Definitely a solid option for an easy meal!
